Description
Google Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd Gen) in the UAE
The Google Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd Gen) is the classic round model that defined the smart thermostat category. It watches how you manually adjust the temperature for the first week, then takes over with Auto-Schedule and runs your cooling on its own. Nest’s published data shows average savings of around 10 to 12 percent on cooling bills, which adds up fast in Dubai where AC runs nine months of the year.
What makes the 3rd Gen different
- Auto-Learning: Builds a schedule based on the temperatures you actually set, no programming required.
- Auto-Away: Uses motion and phone-location sensing to switch to an eco temperature when no one is home.
- Farsight: The 2.08-inch colour LCD lights up with the temperature, time, or weather when you walk into the room.
- Nest Leaf: A green leaf appears whenever you pick a temperature that saves energy, so the household learns by sight.
- Home/Away Assist: Pairs with your phone’s location to know when to power down.
- Remote control: Adjust from anywhere using the Google Home app on iOS, Android, or web.
- Voice control: Works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

Installation in Dubai & the UAE
The 3rd Gen runs on 24V low-voltage wiring, the North American standard. Air conditioners across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and the rest of the UAE typically run on 220V. To make the two work together, you need a compatible adapter (Dropair Mini6 for split units, Fujitsu UTY-TTRX for O’ General and Fujitsu systems) and a clean install. Book our Nest thermostat installation service and we will handle the wiring, the adapter, the Wi-Fi pairing, and the Google Home setup the same day.
3rd Gen or 4th Gen?
The 3rd Gen is the proven workhorse at a lower price point. The 4th Gen adds a 60% larger borderless display, Dynamic Farsight, Adaptive Eco, Matter support, and a bundled Nest Temperature Sensor for managing hot spots. If you want the latest hardware and an included sensor, go 4th Gen. If you want a proven smart thermostat at a sharper price, the 3rd Gen still delivers everything most homes need.
